SkillsUSA Drafting Competition
SkillsUSA hosts regional, state, and national level competitions. There are two drafting categories with 2 divisions each; secondary and post-secondary in both architectural and mechanical categories. Regional's are held in mid-February. Metro Tech is part of Oklahoma Region 4. The top 3 from each division and category will continue on to State competition in mid-March. Only the winner of each division at state contest continues to nationals held in mid-June. This is a prestigious event, placement of any kind at any level is noteworthy and a valuable addition to any resume. Participants will be selected by the instructor based on daily performance and professionalism. If necessary, an in-class contest may be held to select who gets the opportunity to represent our class. We are allowed to take a total of 4 students to Regionals. This does not mean every slot will be filled. Each participating student will need to “qualify”. Selections will be based on class performance, classroom participation, enthusiasm, reliability, and attendance.
