COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course introduces design workflow used in typical civil engineering firms. Employs functions of Autodesk Civil 3D application software for civil design and modeling. Includes Digital Terrain Models (DTM's), street alignments, plan and profiles, grading, and utilities/piping design and drafting. Focuses on the development of a full set of civil engineering improvement plans for a residential subdivision. Verification of learning will be established when you have correctly performing the procedures outlined in the chapter exercises, job sheets, and by scoring 85% or above on the chapter tests.

 

Major Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

1.      Execute the CAD software.

2.      Create, modify, store, and retrieve 2D drawing files.

3.      Plot drawing files with various plotting devices.
