Building Tomorrow's Architects and Engineers One Drawing at a Time

"I took mechanical drafting as well as architectural drafting throughout all 3 years of high school with really no plan to continue in any part of those industries. As fate would have it, I enrolled at Idaho State University Vo-Tech in their drafting and design program and graduated with an Associates Degree in Electro-Mechanical Drafting. That started my amazing 23 year career. I spent my first 5 years in engineering design, the following 5 years as a business owner providing architectural and engineering visualization, and then 13 years in architecture.
I have held a wide variety of positions over those years from an entry level drafter to an engineering designer, visualization specialist, CAD manager, and intern architect. All have taught me so much in their own way; all extending and increasing my passion for design.

In the spring of 2010 I had an opportunity to follow a dream of becoming a CAD instructor. I enrolled in classes that summer at the University of Central Oklahoma and finished both my Bachelor in Career Tech Education and Masters in General Education (M.Ed.) in 2 years 2 months.

I started teaching in August of 2013 and strive on a daily basis to make learning fun and meaningful by relating instruction to real-world uses and also by improving course content and varying delivery methods. However, the relationship with my students is most important. I feel when they are having fun and are engaged they are more effectively learning and retain what they are covering."
